Download Trend

It’s been 10 months now since the first Celin mobile app hit the store, and this weekend marks a milestone with downloads passing the 10K mark.

Trend

I’m only talking about Apple Store downloads because Google Play activity is hardly noticeable. Which makes sense if you make the assumption that iPhone is the dominant Corporate handset and with the exception of cFool, you need access to JDE’s AIS server to make any use of the Apps. All the figures in above graph are iPhone downloads.

The breakdown by territories makes an interesting reading with bulk of the downloads in Asia Pacific followed by less that 4% in USA and Canada. In Asia Pacific it is China that’s dominating with 86% of total downloads followed by Japan on 10%.

Asia Pacific

Australia has a disappointing total of 5 downloads only to be outdone by less enthusiastic New Zealand, which along with the Republic of Congo has a single download.

So what does all this tell me? Firstly the domination of the iPhone is clear and defaults it as the primary target for JDE mobile apps. Secondly my home market of Australia and New Zealand is either not yet ready or averse to 3rd party mobile apps. And thirdly, WTF is going on in China???
