A journey of be-wilderness.

One of my favorite philosophical yarns down at the pub is the life as a train journey analogy.
It’s probably an indication of the state my own journey that I haven’t had a chance to spin this yarn for along time – my drinking friends are sick of it and I’m not making new ones with any patience for it.
Besides, there is always sport to talk about and then the mammoth of attention sink called Donald Trump.

The great advantage of writing your thoughts is that you don’t need anyone to read it. Talking on the other hand without anyone listening is considered a sign of benign madness.

So, here is my analogy:

Life, like a train journey has its origin and final destination.
At the start of the journey we are assigned a carriage with other passengers.
We can’t change it, only make the most out of what the train has to offer and get on with our fellow travelers.
Every now and then our train stops where travelers can change carriages.
You can be comfortable with your carriage and fellow travelers and determine to stay or decide that it’s time to move on and try a different train. Or, in some cases you get thrown off your train.
The train stops are pivotal moments in our lives that determine the carriage and our fellow travelers for the next leg of our journey.

Ten months ago my train came to a halt at a depot. Not knowing when, or even if it would take off again, I decided to alight and try my luck on a promising but yet not fully fitted out train.
So far the journey has been frustrating, enthralling, mind-boggling and with a good dose of deja vu and no sign of upcoming stops. Hence the title.

With thanks to Schrift’s template which I’m trying out.
